My bosses are out of the office today to discuss some new video game projects in Salt Lake City......and with my work done and not much else to do, I thought I'd *finally* get around to learning Painter--something I've been putting off for years because the program intimidates me. O__O
Soooo here's my first experiment in Painter. I guess it's okay for a first try, although I really want to play around with more brushes the next time I work in it. I really love the soft look that Painter makes, and the way colors blend. Gotta give this another try sometime soon. Anyway, just a standard fantasy landscape or whatever....
Yes, there are many fantasy landscapes of this general kind, but between your choice of colors (e.g., the glowing effect in the cave), the parallel in shape between the towers and the stalactites), and your overall sense of composition here, you have a piece that stands out among the many. It's the kind of piece that demands the eye's attention and sets the mind a-dreaming. In a word, exquisite!
