LEGEND: Day and June by mree LEGEND: Day and June by mree
Want to keep updated on LEGEND? Add me on Twitter [link] and Facebook [link] .

This started out as a doodle but then I got carried away. :) On the left is June Iparis, the 15-year old superintelligent prodigy in Legend. On the right (of course ;) ) is Day, the 15-year old boy who is the Republic of America's most wanted criminal. June is hired to hunt Day down.

Anyway, I think they both might have turned out looking a little bit older than they're supposed to, but.....oh well. I had fun drawing their hair. Mwaha.

Legend (book 1 of a trilogy being published by Penguin) takes place in a dark future, when the United States has split into two warring countries: the western Republic, and the eastern Colonies. It tells the story of a famous teen criminal vs. a 15-yr old girl detective prodigy, and is coming out on Nov. 29 of this year. :) You'll be able to find it in all bookstores as well as on Amazon, etc. Legend has also been optioned for film by CBS Films and Twilight's production company Temple Hill!

Hello Miss Lu :) Let me first say that I just heard of your novels today. My teacher recommended it as a book to read during our free time between classes, so I decided to give your first book, Legend, a try. After three hours of continuous reading, I'd say I didn't regret my decision at all. (Haven't been this much into books since the Percy Jackson series ^_^) I'm thankful that my teacher recommended the book to me, but even more so to you for creating this wonderful, thrilling, exciting world for all of us. I'm aspiring to be a writer myself, and your novels, even the first book only, give me inspirations to work for this dream of mine. And I love how you also draw pictures of characters in the books, and how beautiful the art style is. It certainly gives vibes of Japanese Manga arts, but still retained the western characteristics. You're an amazing drawer in addition to being a terrific writer! :)

Thank you again for a great novel series. I haven't read the two sequels yet, but definitely going to some time soon, as well as any of your subsequent works!

PS. I'd love to write my own novel soon, but my language barrier and writing experience are constant problems. If you don't mind, could you share any useful advice on how to write a good novel? It's okay if you don't want to, by the way. I might be asking a bit much. I'm sorry for any mistakes I could have made in this comment. :( Curse me and my lacking English skill...

OH MY GOD. I just finished reading CHAMPION earlier. About 30 minutes, yeah? :D And it's so tear-stained and damp. I know that you already heard a lot of feedback from your readers and I also know that some of them are unsatisfied with how the story ended. I don't care. You can't please everyone. You write beautifully. I love your words and stories. And I am crying, shit. Legend series holds a lot of beauty and potential and it's just so beautiful. Marvelous. Fantastic.
*** (sort of) SPOILER. Don't read beyond this if you haven't read the books yet***
The last two lines of Champion hits me so hard I sobbed. I remembered the line at Prodigy:
"You know, sometimes I wonder what things would be like if I just ... met you one day. Like normal people do. If I just walked by you on some street one sunny morning and thought you were cute, stopped, shook your hand, and said, 'Hi, I'm Daniel.'"

And I was . . . so . . . agh . . . I'm sorry about me fangirl-ing and rambling. Can't help it but. . . I ADORE you so much. You're one of my fave authors :)

And HEY your arts ROCK. God, you're so talented. Heart you saaw much!

I read it and LOVED it!!! I just got Prodigy and it's drawing me in like Legend. And if it's not too much trouble, are you going to do art for Prodigy? I seem to capture the story better with pictures XD

I would like a sketch of thomas as well, I'm curious as to what he looks like in the authors perspective,  although it does all depend on wether or not you too busy or not, I don't think any of us would want to put a burden on you.
