I was cleaning out my gallery and accidentally deleted something I wanted to stay in there......

Anyway, this piece is probably the most different from everything else in my gallery and doesn't fit in, but I still like it a lot, and remember working really hard on it. I did this in AP art back in high school, based off of the Luis Royo painting "Proclamation." I think our assignment had something to do with doing our own alternative rendition of a pre-existing painting, and I chose the Proclamation picture because it is so powerful and well-done.

I'm not Japanese (am Chinese), but this was done as a rememberance to the World War II internment of Japanese citizens in the U.S. What a dark period of history for America.....

Prismacolors on Black paper, with a hint of color added in Photoshop.

This is beautiful and very moving. The hair is fantastic... that's somethign I've always struggled with. I love the eyes, too! Wonderful! :)

in historical context, the internment wasn't that bad, (black people have always had it worse) but it was a great injustice.
