I was cleaning out my gallery and accidentally deleted something I wanted to stay in there......

Anyway, this piece is probably the most different from everything else in my gallery and doesn't fit in, but I still like it a lot, and remember working really hard on it. I did this in AP art back in high school, based off of the Luis Royo painting "Proclamation." I think our assignment had something to do with doing our own alternative rendition of a pre-existing painting, and I chose the Proclamation picture because it is so powerful and well-done.

I'm not Japanese (am Chinese), but this was done as a rememberance to the World War II internment of Japanese citizens in the U.S. What a dark period of history for America.....

Prismacolors on Black paper, with a hint of color added in Photoshop.

Good one. :-)

One of my friends, back when I was in grade school, his dad had served in WWII. His wife is Japanese. I believe they met as a result of her being in one of those camps.

When i saw it i thought - "Louis Royo!" And i was right! Didn't he use Liv Tyler as a model for that one? Lovely work :XD:
