In defense of headdresses.Alright. I've seen (and responded to) the recent rant by :iconCabinetCuriosities: regarding headdresses (among other things, most of which I agreed with, some of which I didn't, but none of which struck me as disrespectful), and I saw the harassment that another user got over her rare pelt that she was going to headdress, and I've seen other people snark about headdresses for various reasons. And I'd like to make a few points.
First of all, it's none of anyone's business what a person does with a hide they have, whether that's make it into a headdress or a soft mount or a blanket or a wall hanger or something for their cat to sleep on. Traditional taxidermy is not inherently more respectful to the animal than headdressing. They can be respectful for different reasons, but ultimately it comes down to the individual person and their approach. And since not a single one of you is sitting here in my living room, watching my work, and none of you are in my head any further than my writing l
Dealing with anti-fur people (again)I just had to ban a couple of people from the Green Wolf FB page http://www.facebook.com/TheGreenWolfLupa for making a fuss about OMGFUR. Granted, they hadn't gotten particularly rude or aggressive, but it was pretty clear they weren't going to be changing their minds even after I tried a couple of times to explain a bit more about my work with dead critters. So instead of letting this turn into a big fight, I just deleted the comments and banned the people from the page.
Censorship? Sure. I believe in free speech in the public sphere, but in my private domain I have the right to employ the banhammer as I see fit. I want that to be a place for me to tell people who actually like my art and writing about what's going on in my creative world. And, quite honestly, I don't have the time to argue with those who are pretty set in their ways. A Shout-Out, as it wereHey, folks.
I just wanted to give a huge thank you of appreciation to you out there, those of you who help make this worth doing. I'm talking about those of you who have my back whenever the anti-fur people start snarking around, and who many times I see sticking up for each other, too. And I appreciate everyone who sends me kind words about my art and writings and other creative endeavors, who comments on and likes my stuff here and elsewhere--pretty much all of you who in some way let me know you think what I do is nifty. Even if you've never been bought anything I've made, for whatever reason, just knowing that you appreciate it is plenty. It doesn't matter that appreciation doesn't pay the bills directly--what it does is help keep my morale up and inspires me to make even more art and writing and other goodness happen. It all counts, really and truly.
So know that every time you say something kind, or pass along a signal boost for the better, you DO significantly make my day better

Assassinating!

I am obsessed with Assassin's Creed. It's not even funny. I am ordering HOODIES. This is not normal Mree behavior even for things she likes! Halp.

This means that for the past few weeks, the conversations in the house between me and Boyfriend have gone like this:

Boyfriend: *upstairs in the home office, working*

Me: *downstairs attentively playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.....after I finished my daily writing, of course :) *

Boyfriend: *comes downstairs, stretches* Man, this new client project is so complicated. We had originally agreed on 35 items but now they're asking for variations on--

Me: GOD I LOVE ASSASSINATING PEOPLE WITHOUT BEING DETECTED.

Boyfriend: *blank stare*

Boyfriend: *carefully backs up to the stairs, peers at me from around the corner*

finally got my hands on Legend and have been reading it nonstop since this morning. Believe me, I though my head would blow off when Anden was introduced! Didn't expect him there but is great to hear from him again after so many years!!

Yeah, I can't wait for next book ^^ by the way, I loved the airforce jacket in your dress up game. Have you got any drawing of June in full uniform? I'd love to make a cosplay if that's alright with you.

Oh how cool!! I'd love to see your cosplay! Hmm...I don't think I have a picture of June in full uniform yet. There are probably a few descriptions in the book about several of her full outfits. Sorry, I know that's not terribly helpful. :) But I'd love to see it!
