Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

Games.com recently covered Cities of Legend's announcement: "Cities of Legend launches us into a bleak future on Facebook" [link]

So YAY! I'm ridiculously excited about this game. Finally, something created with the help of other professionals, that I don't have to struggle to program and maintain all on my own. Something that should be reliable and fun for all the players.

I can't wait for those interested to begin playing it.

I'm still with it!

This is absolutely GORGEOUS. I'm so proud of both you and everyone who's working on this - it looks pretty spiffy! It's so detailed and the atmosphere it sets is perfect~ I definitely imagined a very warm (although a bit more yellow) sort of concept art XD. I had troubles getting an exact idea of the more modern parts of the city when I was reading Legend since I kept seeing the slums so well - so it's nice to get to see something that helps me imagine it better!

Looking really forward to the game!

That is gorgeous. I wonder how accurate the art of Day for the game is in terms of what you've drawn before, though? They look, uh, different. I drew some art trying to blend the two and failed miserably.
