Captain Metias Iparis, June's older brother. This is a fairly accurate portrayal of how Metias usually treats his uniform--untucked, unbuttoned, and rumpled. Messy boy. Anyway, Metias is twelve years older than June (who is fifteen in Legend) and pretty much raised his sister on his own.

And yes, I was totally influenced by Prince Harry's military uniform that he wore for William and Kate's wedding.

Legend (book 1 of my trilogy being published by Penguin) takes place in a dark future, when the United States has split into two warring countries: the western Republic, and the eastern Colonies. It tells the story of a famous teen criminal named Day vs. a 15-yr old girl detective prodigy named June, and is coming out on Nov. 29 of this year.
